For Volver, I populated the now dilapidated house that my great-grandfather Gregorio and his family occupied from 1964 - 1997 with objects that relate to memory, family history, and the plight of the Mexican farmworker in California. After the death of my great grandfather in 1997, the home, which is on my family’s property, has since been left vacant. 

Through family interviews, I gathered information that acted as a point of reference for what objects to bring into the house. This includes furniture, plants, home decor, tools, and artworks made by me.
