In this ongoing project, I insert flags into pre-existing holes made by nailing, stapling, or drilling throughout architecture spaces.

In this instance, I inserted flags into all of the holes I can find inside and out of Helmuth Projects. The building was constructed in the Banker’s Hill neighborhood in San Diego in the 1910s. It has served various functions since its construction such as a travel agency and retail space. From 2010 to 2019 it has been an art gallery and music venue. Helmuth Projects is no longer in operation as the city block in which it is located will be demolished for new business and economic endeavors.
